Advances in technology, such as the use of FRP materials in the infrastructure require internatinal collaboration and the sharing of research and experiences. Each year there are several FRP specific academic conferences. Some attract global attention such as the FRPRCS series, which is held every other year in a venue that rotates between a N. American, European and Asian location. The ACMBS or Advanced Composite Materials for Bridge and Structures series is organized in a Canadian venue. The International Institute for FRP's in Construction or IIFC is an organiztion of academic researchers in the field of FRP's that sanction several conferences worldwide.
